The recipient of the 2016 Emma L. Cunningham Memorial Scholarship is Kayla-Rose Jules from Brooklyn Generation School.
Kayla-Rose will be attending Daemen College and majoring in Psychology in the fall. The Scholarship was presented to her at a special Awards Ceremony on May 10, 2016. Excerpt from Kayla-Rose’s essay: "I got a second chance at pursuing my goals when I started school at Brooklyn Generation School. Within this school I had supportive teachers that did everything within their power to make sure I became that star student again. I worked extra hard and showed leadership skills by helping my peers because I knew what it was like to feel lost academically. I'm officially an honor roll student again."
