The recipient of the 2019 Emma L. Cunningham Memorial Scholarship is Amoy Maxwell from Brooklyn Generation School.
Amoy will be attending Medgar Evers College and majoring in Business Administration in the Fall. Excerpt from Amoy’s essay: "Education is the gateway to a better life and I believe this wholeheartedly. I think it is my responsibility to speak out against injustices such as bullying or discrimination because of one's skin color or other physical features. I will forever be the type of person that will stand up for the defenseless and let them know that they have someone on their side..."
