The recipient of the 2025 Emma L. Cunningham Memorial Scholarship is Gabrielle Titus from Brooklyn Community High School for Excellence & Equity.

An excerpt from Gabrielle’s essay: "When most people think of the term "criminal justice", they think of prosecution.  They think of the lawyers who argue against the accused and convince the jury to find a defendant guilty.  But they also do not understand how the justice system works fully and believe that a defendant's guilt is based on morality and popular opinion. However, justice cannot truly be carried out unless there is a due process of law and someone willing to follow that process and stand up for the accused."
